The One UI 7 beta is now in full swing, with stable updates expected to be released in a few weeks. Samsung’s Good Lock team is also preparing to roll out a series of exciting updates and new features for the popular customization tool, and has shared a detailed roadmap for the One UI 7 update (via Ice Universe).

Good Lock is a set of apps (also called mods) developed by Samsung that allow Galaxy users to customize their devices beyond the standard options available in One UI.

Samsung said Good Lock was initially limited to certain regions and is now expanding globally through the Google Play Store, making it easier for users around the world to use it. The Good Lock app appeared on the Play Store earlier this year, but not everyone can download it. Now, Samsung has confirmed that Good Lock will be available for download from the Play Store and Galaxy Store in all countries starting with One UI 7.

What’s new in One UI 7.0 Good Lock?

The One UI 7 update brings a lot of improvements to Good Lock. The team notes that all these changes may not be available immediately after the stable version is launched, but the goal is to release it at the same time as the official One UI 7 update. Due to major internal updates and testing, updates to Good Lock mods such as Home Up and LockStar may experience additional delays. Listed below are all the improvements and changes in Good Lock with One UI 7:

1. Improved user interface and usability
Good Lock’s main API is being improved. Samsung says the overall makeup of the app has been simplified, making it easier for both new and experienced users to navigate. With 23 available features, Good Lock may be overwhelming to some, but the new update introduces improved app layout and search/filter functionality to help users find what they need more easily. The new My Page tab will allow users to manage Good Lock widgets, reset settings and track the features they use.

2. Home Up new features
The Home Up app also received a major update, including free home item placement that removes grid restrictions, allowing users to freely arrange icons on the home screen. Users can also add a personal touch to the home screen with customizable stickers. Additionally, Samsung is fine-tuning home screen gesture animations, including multi-finger gestures for smoother control. Users will also get new options to customize app icons and taskbar layouts, especially on foldable and tablet devices. Perhaps the best change is that users will be able to configure Home Up functionality on One UI Home without having to run the Home Up app.

3. Game Booster+
In One UI 7, Good Lock will include Game Booster Plus to provide an optimized gaming experience. Users will be able to reclassify apps as games to unlock game-specific optimizations. Users can also remap the gamepad buttons to any key they want. GPU settings will also become adjustable, allowing users to reduce the GPU load used for screen rotation in Vulkan games, or change the quality of textures used in games to improve image quality or performance.

4. Enhanced LockStar
Samsung’s lock screen customization tool, LockStar, gets a smoother editing experience with One UI 7.

5. Daily Gallery
This is a new feature for users who like to share their daily lives. The Routine Library will allow you to browse, edit and apply routines created by other Galaxy users to provide inspiration for customizing your own device.

6. Wonderland wallpaper update
With One UI 7, you can apply the Wonderland wallpaper to your home screen or lock screen individually. App icon tiles, text, and status bar colors will automatically change based on the wallpaper’s primary color to improve readability.

7.Multiple stars
On Samsung Flip devices, MultiStar will enable users to launch the cover launcher feature from the Labs menu, improving the functionality of the cover screen.

8. Camera Assistant
Camera Assistant will allow users to save videos directly to connected external storage via USB-C, freeing up internal storage while recording.
