Marvel Rivals reaches huge new peak on Steam after launch of Season 1
marvel rival It’s quickly become one of my most played games right now, and I’m not alone. NetEase Games’ hero shooter has proven to be a serious contender for Strike Force 2, and now it’s going from strength to strength with its first season. A month has passed and Marvel Rivals has reached a new peak of players on Steam, and I don’t see this trend slowing down anytime soon.
Upon its launch, Marvel Rivals quickly became one of the most played games in Steam history. The number of concurrent online players peaked at well over 400,000, and the hero shooter maintained that number for the entire month of Season 0. month, I wonder if NetEase Games can maintain its momentum. It turns out the team absolutely can.
With the arrival of its first season, Marvel Rivals has now reached its peak player count on Steam, reaching an eye-popping 644,269 players. This means it has now surpassed the all-time peaks of Apex Legends, Path of Exile 2, and Hall of Valhalla. The game still lags behind Dota 2, Palworld, and PUBG, but staying strong for a month and subsequently expanding its influence is nothing to sneeze at.
As someone who has sunk over 50 hours into the multiplayer game and doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon, it’s easy to see why Rivals is getting bigger and bigger. NetEase Games not only waited a month for the player meta to stabilize, but also used this time to support a large amount of new content. In Season 1, we now have a new battle pass, additional maps, two more characters in Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman, and more to come over the next three months – but That’s not all.
NetEase Games is bringing all the nerfs and buffs to Marvel’s antagonists that many of us wanted. The ranged DPS threats of Hela and Hawkeye have been nerfed, and almost all other changes are buffs to heroes who need it. NetEase Games is committed to ensuring that as many team combinations as possible are fun to play, and buffing any lacking heroes is the perfect way to incentivize this.
