Beef and shrimp stir-fry

Sauté beef and shrimp with basic seasonings for 15 minutes. The tender beef contrasts nicely with the crunchy shrimp.

In Chinese stir-fries, we usually stir-fry any kind of protein every time. But this beef and shrimp stir-fry is very satisfying for meat lovers. We will encounter the combination of beef and shrimp in a classic Chinese stir-fry dish. We used to have a lot of beef stir-fries (minced beef stir-fry, beef pea stir-fry, etc.), but many times the meat was stir-fried with one or more vegetables.
The shrimp had a slightly crispy texture compared to the softness of the tender beef. Even better is that it provides a extra flavor Combines perfectly with beef strips.

step by step instructions
Make stir-fry sauce
Place light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, salt and pepper into a small bowl. Divide the sauce into two portions: scoop 1 tablespoon for the marinade and half for the stir-fry.

How to Marinate Beef
Scoop out two tablespoons of the stir-fry sauce we prepared in the previous step. Grasp the beef with your hands or stir until the meat absorbs the flavor. Then, add some extra water and cornstarch. Stir well until marinade fully coats each beef slice.
Finally, add some vegetable oil to coat it. This will help the beef slices stick together.

Fry the beef
First, heat a wok or pan until very hot. Add cooking oil and saute minced garlic, ginger and green onion until fragrant. When the oil is warm but not hot, lay out the beef slices. Let them stay for 3-5 seconds and then quickly fry until white. Transfer out immediately.
Fry the shrimps
Leave oil in the pan and add shrimps. Fry for about half a minute until it changes colour.

mix them up
Add scallions and chopped Thai chilies. Place the beef back in place and pour in the bow sauce we prepared in the previous step. Mix everything together quickly.

Chef’s Notes
You can adjust the spiciness of this beef and shrimp stir-fry by adjusting the amount of Thai paper or the timing of adding the chilies. If garlic and ginger are added to the Thai chili ahead of time, it will intensify the spiciness.
