Check your account: New benefits for 2025, Elite Night Points, and more coming soon

It’s always hard to see most of my elite status levels reset to zero on January 1st.
Some at TPG believe that when it comes to upper echelon elite status, the juice is no longer worth the squeeze, and have even decided not to pursue status at all.
But for those of us who are truly addicted to top status (like me), we need to get back in the game.
Plus, here are some highlights: Credit card points, miles, or free nights offered by some of our favorite programs like World of Hyatt are already here. Additionally, some plans have new benefits or new options in terms of benefits.
We have seen rollovers and points (including Marriott Bonvoy and World of Hyatt stay points) come into our accounts.
Consider this your annual reminder to review your accounts and create a goal plan for your 2025 status.
Delta SkyMiles Frequent Miles Program
For Delta Air Lines elite members, it’s a whole new world. The airline made headlines back in 2023 when it made significant changes to its plans. While Delta has since rolled back some of its most draconian measures, what hasn’t changed is the end of Medallion Qualifying Miles as a measure of elite status.
Now it’s all about Medallion Qualification Dollars, as you can see in the tracker in my SkyMiles account:
You currently cannot select Delta Select benefits (at least not in my account). I have good evidence that people who had enough MQM last year to carry over to 2024 (like me) won’t see the option until after February 1st.

However, in addition to previous options such as upgrade certificates and SkyMiles rewards, there will be many new ones.
If you achieve Platinum or Diamond Medallion status in the 2025 Medallion Year (based on qualifying activity in the 2024 calendar year), you have until January 31, 2026 to select annual Delta Select benefits. Please note that you have until the end of January to elect your 2024 benefits.
According to Delta, you will soon be able to make your selections in the app without having to log in to your desktop: “Starting February 1, 2025, choose your selection benefits through the Fly Delta app and enjoy A more seamless experience.
We expect the MQD boost from holding one of the following Delta credit cards to be realized sometime in February:
For every card you hold, you can earn 2,500 MQD at the beginning of each year simply by becoming a cardmember. These cards are suitable for travelers who have multiple qualifying cards. This means, for example, that if you own two of these cards, you will have a 5,000 MQD head start this year.

World of Hyatt
Qualifying room nights from World of Hyatt have been posted to my account. I actually received an email about the free nights, so if you don’t see those listed in the tracker yet, look for them in your email account.

However, some TPG employees have still not received their 2025 bonuses.
If yours hasn’t appeared yet, don’t worry. Traditionally, they all arrive the same week.
Just hold the World of Hyatt Credit Card and you’ll get five nights of World of Hyatt membership every year. Plus, you’ll earn two additional nights for every $5,000 you spend on the card.
Hyatt also has the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card; unfortunately, you don’t get any elite qualifying nights just with this card. But you’ll earn five levels of qualifying stay points for every $10,000 you spend on the card each year.
By taking advantage of one (or both) of these cards, you can spend money to earn status, or combine your spending with regular staycations to move up the tiers in 2025.

Hyatt Hotels is also rolling out several new features. Now you’ll have more options at more sites on your journey to elite status. Hyatt Milestone Rewards start with 20 qualifying stays or 35,000 base points earned in a calendar year. You can earn Milestone Rewards on up to 150 qualifying nights per year.
World of Hyatt also terminated the unlimited VIP benefits provided to Globalist elite members. Instead, you can now earn VIP rewards through the Hyatt Milestone Rewards program.
Your options include 2,000 World of Hyatt points when you stay at select brands, club access bonuses and Hyatt Find experience points. There are new benefits for 2025, too. Starting at night 20, you can now choose from two American Airlines Preferred Seat coupons.
For the first time in 2024, Hyatt will deposit five VIP rewards into the accounts of all Globalist members, including those with lifetime Globalist status.
I still have 5 2025 rewards in my account with an expiration date of February 28, 2026.
Marriott Bonvoy
Marriott Bonvoy fans are already seeing Elite Night points being credited to their accounts. These award stays are a benefit of having a Marriott credit card and automatically award you 15 to 25 Elite Stay points each year. In my case, I hold Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card, The card will automatically grant you Platinum membership and 25 nights early access to year-round benefits.
Even if you have multiple personal cards, you can only get Elite Stays with one personal card. However, if you open a business and personal card, you can get up to 40 elite nights, which is almost enough for Marriott Bonvoy Platinum status (50 nights).

My colleague Nick Ewen is one of the lucky Bonvoy members. He has been sitting there for 40 nights.
This could greatly enhance Bonvoy’s qualifications for elite status.
You’ll find this Elite Night offer as an added benefit on several cards, including the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card ($95 annual fee) and the Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express Card ($125 annual fee; see fees rates and fees).

Hilton Honors
As of Tuesday, we are also seeing status notifications and status extension stays posted in Hilton Honors accounts.
If you have Hilton Honors Silver status or higher, any qualifying nights above the number required for a specific membership level will count toward your Elite status for the following calendar year. These nights should be released now or soon.
Just have the right credit card to get Hilton membership. In fact, I have top diamond status simply because I hold the Hilton Honors American Express Aspire card.
