Chocolate Protein Pancakes Recipe • Sweet Pea Chef

Ingredient description
Between protein powder, oatmeal, and eggs, you’re getting a ton of protein. Then add bananas and cocoa powder for extra flavor!
Let’s take a closer look at these healthy ingredients:
banana: Any ripe banana will work for this recipe. The riper the banana, the sweeter the pancake will be. (I also use bananas in my banana protein pancakes).
Oatmeal: I like using rolled oats instead of flour in this pancake recipe to increase the goodness of the oats. Avoid quick oats as they are more processed than rolled oats.
Protein powder (chocolate): Using protein powder instead of flour in pancakes is a great way to add extra protein. It’s important to get a high-quality protein powder, so I like my Clean Brand Vanilla Bean Plant-Based Protein Powder. This is the same protein powder I use in other protein pancake recipes.
Cocoa powder: I recommend using 100% cocoa powder in this recipe to avoid any added sugar. My favorite is Nestlé Extra Black, but there are lots of great brands out there.
egg: Eggs are the glue that holds these pancakes together. If you want to avoid eggs, you can use unsweetened applesauce. To reduce fat and increase protein, choose egg whites.
Cinnamon: While cinnamon isn’t an important ingredient in pancakes, I like to add a little cinnamon to add flavor and sweetness to my pancakes. You can omit this if you prefer.
