How to avoid paying for parking in Las Vegas

Tourism in Las Vegas is booming, and the year ahead promises to be another exciting one for the city.

Although the Fontainebleau Las Vegas and The Sphere—a $1.8 billion entertainment venue and the world’s largest spherical structure—open in 2023, they are still attracting many visitors. Of course, tourists also flock to the area to enjoy non-stop round-the-clock entertainment and casinos, a vibrant food scene and an abundance of hotels.

One thing that’s hard to find in this city, though? Free parking.

If you’d rather spend your money on dinner, drinks, a show, or the casino instead of parking, we have good news: We’ve found a few ways to park without paying.

This includes finding restaurants that offer free parking to guests and visitors. We’ve also included some solutions for getting free parking on the Las Vegas Strip.

Here are all the tips and tricks you need to know.

Check into a hotel with free parking

Whether you’re looking for a budget hotel or a luxury hotel, many hotels on and around the Las Vegas Strip offer free parking.

If you bring a car and free parking is crucial, plan to visit the legendary Circus Circus Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip, Sahara Las Vegas, Trump International Hotel Las Vegas, and Treasure Island, Vegas. These hotels provide free parking for tourists and hotel guests.

Some hotels only provide free parking spaces for hotel guests. These include the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas (which also offers free valet parking), Wynn Las Vegas and Wynn Encore Las Vegas.

At InterContinental Hotels Group’s Venetian and Palazzo, Venetian Grazie Rewards Premier and above members can enjoy free self-parking. Nevada residents can enjoy three hours of free self-parking by scanning a valid Nevada driver’s license at a self-parking kiosk. Note: IHG will end its partnership with The Venetian in 2025, so this policy is subject to change.

Free parking through MGM and Caesars Rewards

Summer Hull/Points Specialist

Elite members of the MGM Rewards program receive free parking based on their status level at MGM Resorts properties, including the Cosmopolitan, Bellagio Las Vegas, Aria Resort & Casino and MGM Grand. Currently, Pearl members or higher receive free self-parking, while Gold members or higher receive free valet parking.

Self-parking is also free for existing MGM Rewards Mastercard holders.

MGM Rewards members with Pearl status or higher are also eligible for free special event parking.

For Caesars loyalists, the Caesars Rewards program offers free valet and self-parking services to Platinum or higher members.

Free parking in shopping malls

If you want free parking during the day and don’t mind a short trek to your destination, consider parking at the mall. Free self-parking is available at Fashion Show Las Vegas, The Shoppes at Mandalay Bay and Shops at Crystals.

Free parking at a mall may be convenient if you visit a different casino nearby that does not offer free parking. Just pay attention to the mall’s opening hours. Also, please remove your car when the store is closed as overnight parking is not allowed.

Free parking for veterans

Caesars Entertainment offers a special discount program for veterans, active duty U.S. military personnel and their spouses.

Salute members can enjoy free parking at Caesars hotels, including Caesars Palace, Harrah’s Las Vegas, Planet Hollywood, and more. Salute also offers discounts on dining and show tickets.

Free parking for local residents

As a local, finding free parking in Las Vegas requires paying.

At all MGM resorts, Nevada residents can enjoy up to three hours of free self-parking by presenting a valid Nevada driver’s license at the exit gate (except during special events).

Local residents can also check out the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, Harrah’s Las Vegas, Horseshoe Las Vegas (a Bally’s property) and the Hard Rock Hotel (formerly the Mirage Hotel) Enjoy three hours of free parking. Paris Las Vegas is also offering three hours of free parking to Nevada residents.

Use a ride-hailing service

If you want to avoid parking fees and the hassle of renting a car, ride-hailing services like Uber and Lyft are your best options.

You can take a taxi from Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) to a hotel on the Las Vegas Strip for about $25. You can get around for free without renting a car, thanks to free shuttles between popular hotels on the Las Vegas Strip.
