Advice for picky eaters
It’s easy to create a meal plan with this week’s recipes that can be customized for your family! Here are some tips for making these foods accessible to even the pickiest eaters:
- Eat vegetables secretly: Mix spinach or carrots into lasagna sauce or cheeseburger soup for extra nutrients without raising anyone’s eyebrows.
- Customizable ingredients: Let everyone make their own tortilla pizza or Hawaiian haystacks—kids love taking control of their own plates!
- Turn down the spice: For Korean ground beef, if your kids don’t like spicy flavors, use less sauce or swap it out for a milder teriyaki sauce.
- Exchange ingredients: Don’t like pineapples in a Hawaiian haystack? Substitute diced apples or grapes for a sweet and crunchy texture.
- Make it fun: Cut your tortilla pizza into fun shapes, add colorful toppings, or serve cheeseburger soup with crackers for dipping.
- Simpler: Use regular pasta in lasagna, or for kids who like simple flavors, skip the onions in the soup.
- Add their favorites: Sprinkle extra cheese on everything – it’s an easy way to win them over!

Store leftovers for meal planning
I only plan meals Monday through Friday because sometimes we have plans over the weekend or I have leftovers that we have to finish during the week! If you do have leftovers, make sure you store them properly in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
