Mix vintage and classic Christmas decorations for a timeless look

Combine old and new for a cozy Christmas vignette

One of my favorite things about decorating is the art of blending old and new pieces to create a space that is timeless, comfortable, and full of character. This Christmas we have the happiest vignette in our mudroom that perfectly illustrates that balance. anchored to stunning With a vintage-style Christmas tree plot sign from a weathered white barn, this space is layered with antiques, antique treasures, and a few new finds to tie it all together.

The weathered details and nostalgic charm of the sign make it the perfect focal point, tying the entire vignette with that retro Christmas warmth that I love. While this logo steals the show, it pairs perfectly with The Found Cottage’s vintage-style stockings. Even though they’re brand new, their classic details feel like they’ve been passed down from generation to generation.

To add a whimsical feel, I added my Santa Claus banner From my Cozy Cottage Christmas series on QVC. This is such a fun way to bring a little vintage charm to your decor and it makes me smile every time I see it. Let’s talk about these lovely terrain moss fans for your trees. I absolutely love how realistic and charming they are – perfect for adding a bit of greenery to any vignette. They tend to sell out quickly, but Terrain always has some of the prettiest holiday items.

The rest of the space is styled with a mix of vintage and antique treasures, from weathered baskets to aged furniture. The combination of these old and new elements creates a look that feels collected, carefully curated and very comfortable. It’s a reminder that incorporating vintage-inspired pieces like logos or stockings can help you bridge the gap between past and present, making your home feel timeless yet fresh. To complete this cozy Christmas vignette, we layered some vintage quilts to bring warmth and texture to the space, effortlessly draped over a stunning antique bench as the perfect foundation. I love the bookend barrel box – which barely holds itself together – and it adds even more character as the base of the artificial tree. Thrift treasures like a vintage tree stand and a beautiful red and white box add the perfect festive touch, proving that combining well-worn, well-loved and thoughtfully designed items can create a truly magical holiday scene.
