One UI 7 puts you in charge of filtering unwanted notifications

Samsung’s One UI 7, based on Android 15, may change the way you interact with notifications, and the latest beta shows off a new feature that lets you take control of alerts and eliminate clutter.
Reddit user FragmentedChicken (via Android Authority) discovered a nifty new feature called “Filter Notifications” in the second beta of One UI 7, which is designed to make managing alerts easier.
You can find this handy feature in the Settings menu, under Notifications and Advanced Settings. It divides your notifications into two categories: important alerts at the top and less important alerts below. This is a simple way to keep your priorities straight.
This feature is really cool because it gives you a lot of control. You can filter notifications in three ways. “Old Notifications” hides alerts that are out of date, usually from a few days ago. Background Activity removes notifications from apps running in the background so you don’t get bombarded with them. Finally, “Minimize Notifications” prevents notifications you have hidden from popping up again.
Notifications marked “Old” from “Background Activity” or “Minimized” are neatly moved to a section called “Other Notifications.” When enabled, this section will appear as a separate tab below the main notification panel.
To be clear, the filtered notifications will not be deleted, they will just be hidden in the small “X more notifications” bubble at the bottom of the panel. If you want to view them, just click on it and they’ll pop up in a neat list.
As shown in the screenshot below, when no filters are active, KDE Connect notifications from background applications will appear front and center in the main panel. When the “Background Activity” filter is turned on, the KDE Connect icon will move to the “More Notifications” bubble. Clicking this bubble will bring up all filtered notifications and display them in one place.
