Stellaris developer wants you to help make war in its StarCraft 4X game better

stars is one of the best creations from strategy game developer Paradox – a vast galaxy filled with potential that allows you to create and customize your own alien race to grow and expand across the stars. The space 4X game is a bit different from the studio’s more traditional grand strategy games like Europa Universalis 4, Hearts of Iron 4, and Crusader Kings 3, but it’s still one of their most popular games to date. One of the works. As we continue to look to the future, Paradox would like your help to improve one of the most fundamental parts of Stellaris.

No matter how you choose to play, war is almost inevitable in Stellaris. Like all the best 4X games, conflict isn’t necessarily your path to victory, but you’ll be thrown into conflict from time to time anyway, whether to defend your territory or challenge a threat. Stop them before. After recently considering the future of Stellaris, Paradox community expert “MrFreake” called for feedback on the current version of Stellaris.

“On Stellaris, we work pretty long hours,” Mr Freake explains. “The content for 2025 has been in development for some time, and while we can’t wait to share it with you, our goal is to inform potential future development.” The process will last four weeks and will feature a form you can fill out Survey form. “While open dialogue works really well for Dev Diary 364, a more structured approach is needed for something that may be a year or two away from being used, if at all.”

“At some point in the future, I’d like to see us revisit war and war resolution, and implement more of the Stellaris cinematic universe scenes shown in the trailer,” wrote game director Stephen ‘Eladrin’ Muray. “When gamma aliens attacked the UNE colony on Europa 7, the Human Federation did not wait patiently for an invitation to war, but instead summoned Apocalypse.

“More flexible rules about entering and exiting war are needed,” he continued, “and the support for betrayal does not satisfy me. Secret loyalty exists, but I find it insufficient in its current state – others Mechanics currently prevent them from seizing the opportunity for freedom at the most opportune moment. Whatever you think about the current state of war in Stellaris and the factors surrounding it, you can share it now.

The survey was divided into two parts. The first deals with the general act of declaring and waging war; the second concerns war resolution—the act of ending a conflict, whether through victory, defeat, or a call for peace. There were many individual requests such as the impact of war, user experience, enemy AI, potential pain points, and suggested solutions.

You have until Thursday, December 26 to complete the form. The Paradox community team will collect all responses, read them carefully, and provide reports to developers to help guide future updates and expansions. MrFreake warned that this survey, as well as Muray’s statement, “does not confirm or guarantee that any of the topics discussed here will appear in the game at any time.” Still, there is a designated place to express what you like and don’t like is a good thing – if it helps improve the game, that’s a welcome bonus.

If you don’t own Stellaris yet, you can buy the base game at 90% off in the Steam Winter Sale, which runs until Thursday, January 2, 2025. Head here to get your copy now.
