It’s been a whole month now delta force This free-to-play shooting game has launched an early access public beta on Steam and is currently doing quite well. Its endless stream of content and events, diverse game modes, and tense gunplay keep people coming back. One aspect that has always confused me is its weekly experience cap, which limits how much progress you can make on Delta Force’s season pass to unlock its rewards. Well, Delta Force is now removing that restriction, letting you grind to your heart’s content, but there’s a catch – it’s not a permanent removal, it’ll only last for the next few weeks until the new season starts.
Even amid the popularity of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Marvel Showdown, and a plethora of other free FPS games, Delta Force has become one of the hottest shooters on Steam right now, which is a given. An impressive achievement. Its first season in global open beta is shorter than future seasons, but still has a sizable battle pass filled with rewards that can be unlocked with experience points gained from playing matches. While progression is well-paced, the weekly experience cap means you can’t beat the entire level at the start of the season – which, in theory, should incentivize players to come back week after week.
For this reason, I understand why Team Jade wanted to limit EXP gain in this way, but it still doesn’t work for me, and it’s a pain point for many others in the community as well. What if you can’t play a few weeks after the season ends? What if you want to show off a really cool operator skin or weapon camo in a higher level as soon as possible? If I wanted to, I would remove the EXP limit entirely.
However, after seeing player feedback, Team Jade made some compromises. Delta Force developers said in a statement, “We understand that some players like to pursue progress in an uncapped way, so we will remove the cap at the end of each season to allow players to progress as much as they want. This will also allow those who have fallen behind. One can catch up and unlock all the content.
This means that from now until Sunday, January 19th, you can grind out Delta Force and earn unlimited EXP to purchase the Season Pass. After that day, everything will return to normal and weekly caps will be restored. The new full season of “Delta Force” is expected to kick off shortly thereafter.
I’ve always been a bit of a cynic when it comes to paid battle passes, mostly because of the FOMO they create – even if you’ve spent money on premium rewards, you still have to work hard to unlock them. Games like Marvel Rivals are moving in the right direction by removing expiration dates for seasonal battle passes, meaning you can still progress and unlock rewards after a specific season ends. Delta Force’s temporary relaxation of the rules is a big step forward for it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it dropped the weekly experience cap entirely in the future.
