This One UI 7 feature might make you want to just use Samsung devices

what you need to know
- A new feature of One UI 7 has been discovered called “Camera Continuity”.
- With this feature, you’ll be able to take a photo on your Samsung phone and immediately start working on it on your computer or tablet.
- There are some limitations, such as this feature is only available in Samsung Internet or Samsung Notes.
It’s been a few weeks since Samsung launched the One UI 7 beta for the Galaxy S24, and we’re still learning about the new features. The latest is designed to provide deeper integration for your Samsung phones, tablets and laptops.
This upcoming feature is called Camera Continuity and is part of the Continue on Other Device feature set. According to screenshots provided by Android Authority, this feature allows you to “take photos and scan documents or handwriting on your phone or tablet, then continue working on them on another device, such as a tablet or computer.”
Unsurprisingly, this appears to be another feature of Samsung’s Galaxy device ecosystem. But using camera continuity is even more demanding. Supposedly, the feature is only available if your devices are on the same Wi-Fi network, Bluetooth is turned on, and you’re using a Samsung phone, tablet, or laptop (all logged into the same Samsung account) .
Oh, and best of all, the feature is also expected to be limited to Samsung Internet and the Samsung Notes app. None of this is surprising as these requirements are of the same type when using similar features on Samsung devices.
If anything, it’s another icing on the cake for those who like the Samsung ecosystem and want to see more improvements. At first glance, camera continuity may seem a bit redundant, since your images and files can already be synced between devices. However, this may offer a more streamlined approach, as Samsung continues to offer the only real alternative to Apple’s ecosystem and feature set.
While Samsung released One UI 7 Beta 2 over a week ago, it’s still limited to the Galaxy S24 series. Even the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 have been excluded so far, and we don’t expect that to change. That being said, that’s probably for the best, as this appears to be Samsung’s most ambitious update to One UI in years, and there are still plenty of bugs to iron out.
