Coursera to expand its GenAI catalog with new courses daily in 2024

GenAI is the fastest growing skill on Coursera for the second year in a row. To support learners of all levels, from beginners to experts, our partners have launched more than 450 courses in 2024, expanding our catalog 6x.
Since the launch of ChatGPT, more than 4 million people have enrolled in these courses.
Below is a snapshot of the latest GenAI content launched by leading partners over the past three months.
New GenAI content from leading universities
Professor Jules White of Vanderbilt University, who has taught more than 30 courses to more than 500,000 learners, introduced innovative content using GenAI to automate tasks such as meal planning and project management. Another leader in the field, the University of Michigan (the first Coursera partner to launch a GenAI course) is expanding its offerings with new courses on deploying GenAI in industries ranging from law to creative fields. Complementing these efforts, the University of Glasgow has launched role-specific content, building on its offerings for students and educators.

New GenAI content from leading companies
Top instructors are debuting new GenAI courses on Coursera, starting with Andrew Ng’s AI Python for Beginners, which teaches anyone, regardless of previous experience, how to code with the LLM. Dr. Barb Oakley, legendary instructor at Learning How to Learn, has released her first GenAI course. At the same time, as a partner for most GenAI courses (178) on Coursera, Google Cloud continues to expand its catalog with new content on AI application development, translated versions of popular courses, and more. Finally, IBM is supporting learners’ career development by launching a new entry-level Generative AI Engineering professional certificate and updating its advanced engineering certificate to help mature engineers improve their GenAI skills.
