Valor Essential Oil Blend

Sharing is caring!

Valor is Young Living’s essential oil blend designed to bring balance and alignment to your mood. It is foundational and inspires courage and confidence. Valor is a truly unique blend of black spruce, frankincense, blue tansy and rosewood. Valor can be applied topically, diffused, or even used as a perfume or cologne! In this post, I’ll share a recipe for making your own Courage Blend. This Courage Essential Oil Blend recipe takes minutes to make and I’ve included a roll-on recipe for use on the go!

As an avid essential oil user, I diffuse it every day. I love simply diffusing lavender, but also love making my own blends. I started my essential oil journey with Young Living and love many of their essential oil blends. As I got further into my essential oil journey, I left YL due to monthly purchase obligations, slow shipping times, and the high cost of each essential oil. Although many essential oil companies copy YL’s famous essential oil blends, as a DIY enthusiast, I like to make my own. Also, I’m not familiar with Valor blends offered by other companies.

What is Valor Essential Oil Blend?

Valor is a lovely blend of essential oils designed to inspire confidence and help align your chakras. Black spruce, blue tansy, frankincense, and rosewood are an aromatic blend that work together to create a sweet herbal scent that’s perfect for diffusing. Valor is called “liquid courage” because applying or inhaling it is said to give you courage and bravery. Valor is a very gentle oil blend suitable for the most sensitive skin. Many people believe in the power of this essential oil blend and like the scent so much that they use it as perfume or cologne. What I’m trying to say is that courage is a strong scent that lasts all day long.

According to Young Life:

Valor Blend was originally formulated by Young Living founder D. Gary Young and has been a long-time member favorite. Its unique formula is inspired by historical writings of Roman soldiers, who were said to use botanical extracts and botanicals to inspire courage and confidence before going into battle.

Each Young Living essential oil in the blend has been carefully selected for its unique aromatic and topical benefits: frankincense, for its uplifting earthy aroma and skin-loving properties; for its woody scent; blue tansy for its uplifting aromatic character; and now rosewood for its soothing and relaxing aroma.

Cost breakdown per bottle:

Valor retails for $58.55 on the Young Living website. On Amazon, you can buy Valor for $64.41. I based this recipe on the price of plant remedies. Each bottle of homemade Valor sells for about $13.20. If you purchase the 2.5 ml bottle I linked to, you will only be able to make 2 bottles of Valor, but you will have a lot of product left over from the other ingredients for other projects.

Notes on rosewood essential oil: I happen to have a very old bottle of redwood wine from Spark Naturals. However, none of the essential oil companies I chose no longer carry rosewood. I believe it would be difficult to find the source. At one point, Young Living could no longer find a viable source and switched from redwood to geranium. I read that rosewood essential oil is a suitable substitute for rosewood. I did find some cheap rosewood options on Amazon, but I recommend using a higher quality rosewood essential oil.

Making your own Valor Essential Oil Blend is a great deal! If you want to make more than 5 bottles of Valor or want to make a larger quantity for yourself, Plant Therapy has 5 ml of Blue Tansy Oil for $25.99 and 10 ml for $37.99.

I love the scent of this Valor essential oil blend and now that I’ve finished it, my husband has it in the car. Not all Young Living scams are something you can make your own, but Valor certainly is. Let me know if you make it and how you use it!
