Google Quick Share simplifies file sharing with secure QR code scanning

Quick Share is Apple’s equivalent of AirDrop for Android users. While it’s been around on Android phones for a while, the Quick Share feature is adding new ways to share profiles with other users.
Android phone users can now share files through Quick Share with the help of QR codes, which will make it easier and more secure for recipients to receive files. The feature happened to be widely available when it was announced last month (via 9to5Google ), and was first spotted last May.
Until now, users who wanted to share photos or files had to turn on Quick Share for their contacts or everyone nearby, suggesting the device would be available to almost any nearby Android device. However, new QR code sharing users can now click on the “User QR Code” feature, which will be visible in the “Send to nearby devices” pane.
Clicking further it will display the QR code along with the number and type of files the user wants to send. Recipients can now scan the code and click the quick share link from their Android phone (Quick share.google) to get the original file. There’s also a nifty reminder on the QR code that indicates the Android phone recipient should scan the corresponding code.
It eliminates the need to constantly search for contacts or pair with new devices nearby because scanning a QR code is just a little easier. Additionally, QR codes can be read by multiple Android devices, meaning multiple nearby users can benefit from receiving the original file quickly, which can be a lifesaver at a party or event.
Android users use the latest version of Quick Share (version 24.49.33) will be able to see the feature on their devices as the rollout has just begun.
