Discover the World of Hyatt Experience: How to Earn and Spend Hyatt Points
Recently, I had the opportunity to attend a five-course dinner at the Thompson Hotel in Denver as part of the Hyatt brand’s Thompson Gourmet: Chef Series. It’s one of many activities offered by Find, Hyatt’s experience platform, where World of Hyatt members can earn and spend points.
Here’s everything you need to know about Find, my experience, and why I think Find is worth considering when planning your next trip.

What is the Find experience platform?
According to Hyatt’s website, “FIND is a marketplace for curated wellness experiences that help inspire people to be their best selves.” There are currently more than 500 experiences in more than 75 destinations on the Find website.
If you’re planning a trip (or looking for fun things to do at home), you can search by country or state to see what’s available in your destination. You can also search by category (Arts, Culture & Community, Exploration & Restoration) or enter keywords to narrow your search.
Unlike some hotel experience platforms that focus on performances or sporting events, Find’s selections span the gamut. Of course, your choice depends on where you’re going – big cities seem to have the best options. Prices also vary greatly.
Some examples include a Prague beer tasting ($33 or 2,377 World of Hyatt points), a snorkeling trip to Honolulu ($184 or 13,148 points), and a half-day trip to Marrakech ($349 or 24,960 points).
You’ll also find tickets to shows and museums, allowing you to earn and spend Hyatt points on things you may already have planned. For example, tickets to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville are $31 or 2,225 points, or you can see “Aladdin” on Broadway for $110 or 7,849 points.
Some experiences are “curated” by Hyatt, but you generally don’t have to stay at a hotel to book an experience. Exceptions are made for experiences that explicitly include a hotel stay, such as a “wicked” theme night at the Andaz Hotel Schwabinger Tor in Munich ($475 or 33,955 points).

Taste of Thompson: The Chef Series is part of the larger Chef Series, available on Find as part of a larger package that includes dinner tickets for two, a meet-and-greet with the chef, and a stay at the hotel during pre-dinner cocktail hour Night – for me, it’s the Thompson Denver.
My experience also included goodies waiting for me in my room: a recipe book signed by the chef, a box of his favorite three spice blends, a bottle of Thompson’s water, sparkling wine on the rocks, and mineral water , and homemade ganache bites (vegan made just for me).
The ganache bites as delicious as it looks.

The five-course meal was equally delicious. Although the Find website states that “no substitutions are provided for guests with dietary restrictions or food allergies,” the chef was happy to accommodate my vegan diet – and it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Not only is it delicious, it’s protein-rich and filling (a combination that’s hard to find among vegetarian restaurant offerings).
My omnivorous companion seemed to enjoy their standard menu just as much. Everyone—from my husband, who eats everything, to seasoned cooking writers—seemed impressed by the food.

The dinner at the Thompson Denver is a one-time event, but the chef series will continue with similar events in January at the Thompson Palm Springs in California and in February at the Thompson Cape in Mexico. If you are interested in attending and have special dietary needs, I recommend contacting the hotel before booking your flight to see if they can accommodate you, as this “find” experience is non-refundable.
The Thompson Denver Find package is $832 or 59,428 World of Hyatt points. However, you can also purchase tickets to the dinner through Thompson’s website for $135 per person, or $195 with wine pairing. This includes a welcome cocktail hour and one of the chef’s signature spice blends, but does not include other items included in the Find package.
Although I enjoyed the Find experience, I wish tickets were available through Find. The same goes for Thompson Denver’s other events, including chocolate-making workshops, holiday drag shows and New Year’s Day pajama brunch, which are currently unavailable through Find.
The more options Hyatt adds to the Find platform, the better because Find is a useful tool for Hyatt loyalists like me. Here’s why.

Is the World of Hyatt Find experience worth it?
If you redeem World of Hyatt points for Find experiences, you’ll get a value of approximately 1.4 cents per point in most cases. That’s lower than TPG’s December 2024 valuation of 1.7 cents per point for World of Hyatt points, but for experience redemptions, it’s not terrible.
I have a Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, which allows me to redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards points at 1.25 cents each for activities through the Chase Travel℠ portal. Or, I can use my Capital One Venture The Find platform offers better value than either option.
This is a great option if you’re looking for an expensive Find experience, or if you decide to plan your entire vacation through points and miles. However, you can get more value by redeeming your Hyatt points for Hyatt hotel stays, especially at luxury hotels or on peak dates.

If you want to save your points for better redemption, you can choose to book Find events with cash and earn Hyatt points. In fact, World of Hyatt members earn 10 points for every qualifying dollar spent on Find, double what basic members earn on Hyatt stays. If you hold Hyatt elite status or pay with a Hyatt credit card, you’ll earn even more points, up to 17 points per dollar. In addition, points earned through Find can also count toward Hyatt elite status.
Find works differently than other hotel platforms, such as Hilton Honors Experiences and Marriott Bonvoy Moments. These require you to bid for experiences, so you never know how many points you’ll have to spend – or if you’ll get the experience. With most hotel platforms, you don’t have the option of paying cash and earning rewards points.
Hyatt’s flat rates make it easier to plan your vacation, and I love that you have the option to earn or spend points here. If a bargain catches my eye, I might make the purchase using my World of Hyatt credit card to increase my Hyatt account balance. If I find something more expensive, like the Thompson Denver Chef Series and combo hotel packages, I’ll consider redeeming the points.
You can also give the Find experience as a gift to family and friends, which is a great option if you’re looking for a unique gift for a loved one who’s hard to buy for. In 2023, Hyatt is launching a new feature: a select few Find experiences can now be sold through points auctions, more in line with other hotel platforms.

bottom line
As a big fan of Hyatt, I think the Find platform is an exciting and potentially valuable tool. Activities are always a big part of my vacation planning, and I love having a way to redeem points or earn at least 10 points per dollar. If other Find experiences are as high quality as the one I recently attended, they will provide tremendous value.
