Gemini’s in-depth research capabilities are available in more languages and regions
what you need to know
- Gemini Advanced’s in-depth research capabilities were first released to English-speaking users earlier this month.
- The feature has now been expanded to more languages and regions.
- In-depth research allows users to explore complex topics and convert them into easy-to-read reports in minutes.
Google has launched an impressive upgrade for its Gemini, and as part of the upgrade, it also announced a new tool called Deep Research for Gemini Advanced users, which is currently expanding to more countries and supporting more new language.
Deep Research is a personal AI research assistance tool for Gemini AI users. The company announced to Gemini Advanced users before the holidays that the tool now supports more than 45 languages and covers 100 countries around the world. Users can try it by selecting “Gemini 1.5 Pro with Deep Research” from the Gemini Advanced drop-down menu.
Deep Research’s goal is to save hours of time by “deeply analyzing relevant information on the web” and make artificial intelligence assistants more useful than they are today.
For example, if you ask a question, Deep Research “creates a multi-step research plan for you to edit or approve. Once you approve it, it begins a deep analysis of relevant information around the web on your behalf.”
The new feature will attempt to explore complex topics and convert them into more comprehensive and easy-to-read reports that can be further exported to your Google Docs.
The compiled report will also include links to original sources, relevant websites or businesses if the user would like further details. Since it is an AI assistant, users can ask further follow-up questions or ask it to make improvements, and it will generate a report within minutes.
The search giant began rolling out Deep Research to Gemini Advanced users on desktop and mobile web earlier this month. While the initial rollout was for English-speaking users, the latest announcement adds the languages mentioned above and more countries. However, Gemini mobile app users can expect the feature to roll out as early as next year, according to the announcement blog post.
