Plan the perfect vision board party night!
Plan the perfect vision board party night!
Did you know that when we set clear intentions, our goals are more likely to become reality? Neuroscience supports this! Our brains have a reticular activating system (RAS) that helps us focus on what’s important. When we create a vision board, we are essentially programming our RAS to identify opportunities and align our actions with our dreams. How amazing is that? As moms, we always have a lot to juggle, but a vision board can help us focus on what we want out of life for ourselves and our family.
So why not turn this powerful practice into a fun bonding experience with your friends? A vision board party is the perfect way to reflect on the past year and decide which habits, behaviors, and mindsets you want to keep in 2025 and which ones you’re ready to let go. It’s time to get ready for your best year yet!
Step 1: Reflect on your goals
Start your vision board party by writing down your goals in a few key categories:
- wealth/job
- healthy
- Habit
- Activity
- affirmative sentence
- interpersonal relationships
Here are some examples to get you started:
- Wealth/Job: Get a promotion, start a side hustle, save $5,000, pay off your credit cards, or set better work-life boundaries.
- healthy: Exercise three times a week, drink plenty of water, prioritize sleep, try yoga, or eat more whole foods.
- Habit: Start a gratitude journal, wake up early, read a book a month, or spend less time on social media.
- Activity: Plan a family vacation, take a cooking class, join a local moms group or try a new hobby.
- Affirmative sentences: “I am capable,” “I deserve rest and happiness,” “I can handle challenges,” or “I deserve to achieve my dreams.”
- relation: Spend more quality time with your kids, schedule monthly date nights, connect with old friends, or set boundaries in a toxic relationship.
Choose something you want to do in each category. This will give you a clear roadmap to help you find the perfect quotes and images to add to your vision board. It’s also a great way to figure out what’s most important to you as you enter the new year.
Step 2: Let go of things that no longer serve you
Before you start creating your vision board, take a moment to release anything you don’t want to bring into 2025. Here are some examples:
- Burnout
- overworked
- Not choosing to take a break when needed
- living under pressure
- Likeable
- no set boundaries
- negative self talk
Once everyone is finished, take turns sharing your list with the group. Then, tear up the papers to symbolically indicate that these habits, beliefs, or behaviors will not be with you into the new year. This is a powerful and freeing moment to share with your friends!
Step 3: Get creative with your vision board
Now the fun begins! Unpack supplies and let everyone’s creativity shine. Click here to go to my Amazon store to purchase all of the items below.
Here’s what you need:
- 13×19 frames
- 14×22 white poster board
- Elmer’s glue stick
- vision board books
- Scissors (we tell everyone to take their own scissors home)
- Shiny brown stickers (optional)
- Fun scissors (optional)
While magazines can work, vision board books are much better. They are made specifically for this type of crafts and have enough material to last for several years. It’s a worthwhile investment for your party and your dreams!
Step Four: Food and Drinks
No party is complete without food and drinks! A taco bar makes it easy and fun. It’s easy to organize because everyone can contribute something. Below is a copy and paste checklist for your group registration:
- tortillas
- nachos
- Ground beef or chicken (pre-cooked and seasoned)
- shredded cheese
- lettuce
- diced tomatoes
- onion
- jalapeno pepper
- sour cream
- Guacamole
- Salsa
- refried beans
- rice
Pro Tip: Add some festive drinks like mocktails, margaritas, or sparkling water to spice things up!
Hosting a vision board party is not just about setting goals, it’s about creating meaningful memories with friends and inspiring each other to dream big. Let’s make 2025 the best year yet, one vision board at a time. Below is my 2025 board!
Now hang it somewhere in your home where you’ll see it all the time, like in your bathroom, next to your bed, or even in your laundry room, because we all know moms spend a lot of time in the laundry room.
