These slow cooker steaks are a variation on the popular “Mississippi” stew. The tender steak is slowly cooked in rich, flavorful gravy with a hint of heat from the pepperoni.

Ingredients for Slow Cooker Mississippi Steak

replace:

  • butter: Substitute olive oil for unsalted butter for a lighter option.
  • pepperoni: If you don’t like spicy food, use banana peppers.
  • Au Jus Mix: If you don’t have the juice mix, you can substitute a packet of onion soup mix for extra flavor.
  • Beef broth: Use chicken broth if necessary, although it will change the flavor slightly.
