This is POCO X7 Pro Iron Man Edition
POCO continues to make the best budget phones, and the manufacturer is doing something a little different with its latest launch. The X7 and X7 Pro are now available globally, with the latter model being particularly interesting as POCO has partnered with Marvel to release an exclusive variant of the device called the POCO X7 Pro Iron Man Edition.
I’m a big fan of these limited-edition models, and OnePlus has done a great job of launching unique designs in the past, such as the OnePlus 5T Star Wars, OnePlus 6 Avengers, OnePlus 6T and 7T Pro McLaren models, and the Nord 2 Pac-Man variant. It’s great to see POCO getting involved with the X7 Pro, and it’s notable that the brand is doing this on a budget phone, making the device more accessible to a wider audience.
In other words, POCO will not launch the X7 Pro Iron Man Edition in India, its largest consumer market, but will make its debut in some Asian countries. It’s available in 12GB/512GB models and costs $399. Meanwhile, the X7 Pro costs $299 for the base model and $369 for the 512GB model, so you’re essentially paying an extra $30 for the Iron Man Edition.
With that out of the way, let’s talk about design. POCO clearly pays attention to small details, and the SIM card ejector in the box looks like an Arc Reactor.
The packaging itself is very well done, it has a “mechanical lifting structure” designed to mimic the feeling of “putting on Stark’s armor”, and you get a cutout that highlights the blueprint of the Iron Man suit. Inside the box is a case that nicely reinforces the device while showcasing the design on the back.
Coming to the phone itself, the X7 Pro Iron Man Edition adopts a unique back design, with red and gold as the main colors, highlighting the Iron Man helmet. The helmet is housed within a stylized Arc Reactor, and the rest of the back has a “3D relief enhanced with platinum details” that nicely emphasizes the design.
POCO uses a layered system on the back design to create a three-dimensional effect, which is quite interesting. “The shiny surface becomes brighter and more shiny thanks to an intricate layout of layered platinum serrations within, creating a three-dimensional feel that reflects the detailed craftsmanship of Stark’s engineering. A combination of matte and glossy finishes are used on the helmet Featuring a shimmering sand texture that reflects subtle brilliance in the light, Arc Reactor’s intricate patterns appear both powerful and precise.
While my first reaction after taking the device out of the box was that it looked a bit tacky, I didn’t feel the same way after using the phone for a week. POCO has done a great job with the overall aesthetic of the X7 Pro Iron Man Edition, with red accents around the camera and power button on the back making the design quite distinctive. You can also see the Avengers logo on the bottom and the POCO logo on the top, both of which are trimmed in gold to add a bit of contrast.
The sides have a square design but with subtle curves, and I didn’t notice any usability issues. This is mainly thanks to the matte texture on the sides, which makes the device easier to hold and use. Other details include custom backgrounds and pre-installed icon packs with red borders. While I like the background, the icon pack is too distracting, thankfully you can switch it out easily.
The rest of the hardware is the same as the X7 Pro. You get a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate and 1920Hz DC dimming, and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

The phone is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra and has 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage. The phone won’t be able to run demanding games at the highest settings, but it’s decent enough for its class and I don’t see too many issues here. I’ll go into more detail in the review, but as a teaser, I’ve included the overall quiz scores above.
Camera-wise, there is a 50MP Sony IMX882 as the main shooter, coupled with an 8MP wide-angle lens, POCO wisely chose to limit the device to just two good sensors. The battery capacity is 6000mAh and the charging power is 90W. Interestingly, the Indian version of the X7 Pro is equipped with a larger 6500mAh battery. The Iron Man Edition is based on the global variant and therefore has a 6000mAh battery. Hardware-wise, you also get IP68 protection, NFC, an IR blaster, and a decent vibration motor.
On the software front, the phone runs Android 15 out of the box, which gives it a clear advantage over the Redmi Note 14 Pro+, which costs $150 more.
Overall, I really like the performance of POCO X7 Pro Iron Man Edition. The brand put a lot of thought into the design and packaging of the phone, and it doesn’t come at an absurd premium compared to the standard X7 Pro. I would have liked to see this device in India, but other than that, I have nothing wrong with the device – it’s one of the best limited edition models I’ve used recently.
