Whale TV launches updated TV operating system, equipped with artificial intelligence recording and voice assistant

Independent television operating system maker Whale TV has begun rolling out a new version of Whale OS, which includes artificial intelligence suggestions and a voice assistant.

Whale TV partners – including more than 400 brands including Philips, JVC and Telefunken – will be among the first to use Whale OS 10, although U.S. availability has yet to be confirmed. The Singapore-based company, formerly known as Zeasn, powers more than 43 million active smart TVs worldwide, according to a press release.

The updated Whale OS 10, originally announced in September, features user profiles, AI suggestions, and a voice assistant powered by ChatGPT, “enabling users to interact with their TV in a more natural, conversational way,” according to a press release from the company this week. two. These upgrades could make the TV operating system more comparable to operating systems like Roku and Fire TV.

“Whale TV helps users easily navigate to their favorite entertainment, whether it’s streaming, broadcast or played on a connected device,” the company said.

According to news released at the time, Zeasn transformed into Whale TV in September, aiming to increase consumer awareness after marketing specifically to TV brands and factories.

Along with the operating system update, the company is also bringing its free TV streaming service Whale TV Plus to all Whale TV devices. Whale TV Plus combines Whale TV’s former services rlaxx TV and Whale Live, allowing users to watch ad-supported TV programs for free without any additional sign-up steps.
