With less than a week to go before the official launch of the OnePlus 13R, we’re now getting a closer look at the specs of the mid-range smartphone. While the OnePlus 13 is widely known due to its launch in China, the OnePlus 13R has more of a mystery. It’s loosely based on the OnePlus Ace 5, but has a number of unique tweaks. According to the latest leaks and rumors, the OnePlus 13R will feature major camera upgrades over the Ace 5 and its predecessor, the OnePlus 12R.
Leaker Yogesh Brar on X (formerly Twitter) has shared the rumored OnePlus 13R camera specs. The main camera is a 50MP Sony LYT-700 lens, the sensor size is 1/1.56 inches, and it uses a stacked CMOS image sensor. It comes with an 8MP ultrawide lens, which appears to be the same sensor used by last year’s OnePlus 12R. Finally, the third camera sensor is a 50MP Samsung JN5 lens with 2x optical zoom.
Samsung’s JN5 sensor may not be the telephoto lens we’re used to, as it can only achieve 2x optical zoom. However, due to its versatility, this lens has become very common on mobile devices.
Samsung explains: “The JN5’s slim optical format makes it highly versatile, allowing it to be used with both primary and secondary cameras, including wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle, front-facing and telephoto, ensuring a consistent camera experience from all angles. .
OnePlus 13R Camera Information Rear: – 50MP LYT-700 (Main) – 8MP Ultra Wide Angle – 50MP JN5 (2X Telephoto) Selfie: 16MP Indian Model Gets: – 12GB/256GB – 16GB/512GB (LPDDR5X / UFS4.0) About Thoughts on pricing?December 31, 2024
If this rumor is true, the 50MP Samsung JN5 sensor will replace the 2MP macro lens on the OnePlus 12R. This will be a long overdue move that will bring better camera performance to OnePlus 13R users. Typically, small macro lenses are rarely used and don’t always provide better performance than applying macro effects to the main sensor. In short, the JN5 telephoto lens will be more popular among OnePlus 13R users compared to the 2MP macro lens on the OnePlus 12R.
Additionally, Brar revealed that the OnePlus 13R’s selfie camera will be a 16MP lens. This is the same as the OnePlus 12R, so the selfie camera will most likely not change.
Ahead of the official launch of the OnePlus 13R, we now know quite a bit about the device. The leaked renders reveal two color options of the smartphone, including every angle of the phone. Based on a leaked Amazon listing, we also know that it will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, just like the OnePlus Ace 5. Most importantly, OnePlus confirmed that the phone will have a slim profile and a 6,000mAh battery capacity.
